Survivor is back from its vacation and we’re back from ours.
We’re feeling a little bit out of the loop since we didn’t get to see all of the CBS build up via commercials and other promotional vehicles.  Further more, we’ve done a week of Disney (3 days parks, 4 days cruise) so we’ve been on marketing/hype/automagic overload.  Just hours after hitting the earth in Ohio, we’re not too impressed with what Mark Burnett and Jeff Probsts has brought us this week.  Are we just tired, over loaded or was this just lame?  (I think tired was part of it because we didn’t even bother to drink).

Despite the lack of drama, there were a couple of things to discuss:

• Should Bruce (or anyone) be ready to switch sides on a dime?
• How weak or strong should one present himself/herself as being?  Should one fake either?

This is slightly shorter than other shows since we’ve traveled over a thousand miles and have been dragging two kids and a mother-in-law around for the since 5:00 a.m.

Special edition Wednesday Re-cap show.  We didn’t see too many new scenes - just more of the same Bobby sleeping or pooping & Shane being crazy.  I did learn though that unless you want to pay big money, don’t sing the “Happy Birthday” song in any media forum.  How much did that cost Survivor??? 

We had a wonderful interview with Susan Vaughn from the Amazing Race 7 (yes, that is the one with Boston Rob and Amber!) which we will be posting here, at Armchair Apprentice (http://www.apprentice.tubecasts.com), and at Digital Media Cast Experiment (http://www.dmcex.com).

Reward and Immunity all tied into one challenge and the winner takes all - reward of bar-b-que with the locals, immunity from tribal council, the ability to pick the person from the other team that will be exiled AND that will be immune from being voted off.  After a tough challenge CASAYA wins.  We talk about this week’s show, the interactions at the camps and the challenge.  We discuss three questions this week:

• How do you / should you play the game?  Is Shane’s strategy of “rock the boat” a good one?
• Should you reveal your personal secrets?  Are you the master of your unspoken word, but once spoken is it your master?
• Alliances - will there be repercussions from breaking an alliance?

Rice, beans, skulls and coffins - the fun continues on Survivor this week.  The lesson learned though is don’t drink the wine.

In this episode we discuss the reward and immunity challenges and then hit on these topics:

• “Swear on my kid” vs. “I’ll never lie to you”.  Is either of them more or less sincere?  What would you say to convey your loyalty?
• Just 39 days - Can’t you just get along for 39 days?  Hey, if it were a serious relationship then it is okay to argue and pick at every little thing because you are in it for the long run, but if it is only 39 days, suck it up and shut up.  Stop whining people you have the chance for $1 million and great fame!
