2010.02.18 Survivor Heroes vs. Villains - Y’all

The tribes are still struggling to build shelters - well one tribe is and it is the Villians.  Rob is getting irritated with his buffoon tribe and needs to take a break so he goes for a walk, I mean fall.  Rob passes out, comes too and looks to be in bad shape.  The medics note that he looks worse than he is and after some water and confessions to Jeff, Rob is able to get up and stay in the game.

Immunity and reward challenge - teams of two people run out and get a crate and roll the crate back to the start.  Six crates need to be collected and then constructed to build a staircase then the first team to have everyone race to the top using the staircase wins.  The team wins immunity and much needed nails, ropes and a tarp.

The heroes have a new strategy, “one voice”, so they listen to one person who will direct the group.  This one voice strategy works for a few minutes and then they all try to talk over each other and in the end loose again.  Boston Rob pulls his team back from a slow start and brings the Villians to victory.

Back at camp the Heroes tribe continues to argue over the one voice strategy and who was following and who wasn’t.  James gets heated and is none too pleased with Stephanie.

Before tribal council James is trying to get people to vote Stephanie off as she “never wins anything” and Stephanie, Colby and Tom are trying to get people to vote Amanda off as she is the weakest player.  Cirie and Candice are the middle votes and eventually are swayed to one side.  Stephanie, the tribe has spoken.

We are sorry to see Stephanie go.

This week we pay a tribute to Stephenie, who spent a lot of time alone after her tribe was obliterated during her initial season with Brother Love’s “Alone” from his “Album of the Year”.  I wonder if her hair is as soft as his?

I agree with Marji, bravo for James’ outspokeness. OUTPLAY, people. No one said bullying is prohibited. Everyone loved evil Russell’s deviousness last season. If you’re okay with devious underhandedness, why do you draw the line at bullying? If I’m as big as James, heck yes I am going to talk smack and try to intimidate you, if it makes you screw up your gameplay. And when you cry about it, I might even tease you about it, IF it works in my favor. Bullying might not be politically correct, but this is NOT pc island. Win by any methods as long as it’s in the rules. Friggin Russell should admire James for his bullying.

    Sorry I can’t agreed ID.
I never bought into the editing monkeys’ and Probst’s boy crush on James that kept trying to force me to like him.
Is bullying a strategy? Yes it is
Tom was able to use bullying as a strategy and still make people like and respect him. You might recall that last season Russell’s not so subtle bullying backfired on him when it came down to asking the people you treated like crap for a month to give you a million dollar.
I’m not buy for one moment this is strategy on James’ part. If we have learned nothing else strategy and James have never even shook hands. He just a oversized, roid raging moron who doesn’t have the maturity to control his temper. In real life we don’t call people like that heroes. We call then assholes.
Can’t help but notice that in 3 seasons the people James tends to bully are women. IMO, James is a condescending, misogynistic prick.
As for calling Stephenie out on her play?
Um yes Stephenie outlasted her whole tribe the first time around and almost killed herself carrying a lot of dead weight with Bobby John and made it to the finals the second time around. Ohhh she sucks. And I’m not a big Steph fan, but I’ll put her game over dumbass James’ any day.
What about you James? How did you do? First time around you got totally played and went home with 2 idols in your pocket and the second time……you hooked up and got played once again by your hookup. Oh and this season I’m putting money on your tribe getting sick of your tirades and out of control behavior. Yeah you’re a Survivor genius.
I hope at the finale it get point out to James that Tom is a winner and has a million dollars to prove it and Steph will soon be married to MLB player and doesn’t really need the money.
Well that’s my James rant. Can you tell I don’t like this guy?
Cirie still one of my favorite players, but the target on her back is huge. Amanda still bugs. Candice may be able to stay in as the swing vote. Do the heroes have any one who can do a puzzle?
Good on Boston Rob, but methinks Russell is a little jealous. Kind of missing batshit crazy Coach. Sandra and Parv under the radar this week.
Anyway it’s a fun season so far.

  3. SparkGirl Says:

I don’t know if there is enough time in the day for all my ranting - but let’s see.

First, a quote from Spaceballs that I love but don’t agree with - “Evil Will Always Triumph because Good is Dumb” - Dark Helmet

That being said, I like to think of myself as “good.” So, does that make me a “Hero?” I think not. And does that mean I never think evil thoughts or say evil things? NO! Sit down with me and a game of Monopoly and I am cutthroat. Survivor is a game! These “heroes” are not heroes by any means. They are game players that we may have found endearing and found ourselves cheering for. So, we want to think of them in positive ways. But that doesn’t mean anything in the midst of a game.

Marji - I am going to have to let you know that I totally disagree with you and your opinions of Tom and James. I thought James acted like an ASS! Maybe if he had yelled during the challenge and gained everyone’s attention at that point I would think a bit differently. I don’t think that he shouldn’t state his opinion but I think he went a bit over the top. As for Tom, I admired that when James was on his rant at camp, Tom kept his mouth shut. Yes, he said some things after the fact. He was entitled to his opinion as well. At least he didn’t throw it into everyone else’s face and belittle the entire tribe or personally attack anyone.

Mike - I am a bit confused. You seem to appreciate villians. (I assume that might be part of your attraction to the Rolling Stones.) You like Russell. You find his evil absolute genius. But, from what I know of you, you don’t like it when people don’t follow rules. So, where exactly do you stand? Also, would you please quit talking about your penis? I find it very disturbing! Talk all you want about tits and what not - just not YOUR penis. I ran out of clean trash cans to vomit in. And you with a beard - YUCK!!!

As for the villans, I don’t think they are all villians. As for Coach, I just think he is an idiot. He likes to talk. Tyson - dumbass!!! Sandra - who the hell is Sandra? Courtney - who cares? Boston Rob - someone that I never cared for but I find myself admiring him a bit. Russell - hate him because he does mean things just for shits and giggles - a TRUE villian.

Side note about Boston Rob - maybe he shit himself when he passed out. He had a big brown stain on the back of his shorts when he went back to camp. Go ahead, say it is mud. Shitting himself is funnier though. Wait, does that make me not a “hero” for dissing someone. Oh shit, my reputation is ruined!

Maybe I will join Marji and try the villian way. This hero thing hasn’t paid off to well for me. I guess it goes back to “Evil will always triumph…”

  4. Phillip Molly Malone Says:

Haven’t listened to the whole show yet but I wanted to applaud James for telling Stephine to shut up when she started her rant after being voted off!
Jeff clearly says that “Once you are voted off, you must leave the tribal council immediately!”
He doesn’t say “Give us your exit interview to your tribe and then if you feel like it leave”.

I am so glad Stephine got voted off. She really is on the wrong show. Surely she should be on the biggest loser! She can’t win to save herself!

Any way, maybe more thoughts later!
