2010.02.11 Survivor Heroes vs. Villians - Could’ve, Would’ve…Didn’t

The helicopters fly through the sky and swoop down onto the beach dropping off this season’s Survivors.  Heroes vs. Villians season starts immediately with the first reward challenge which brings on a dislocated shoulder, a broken toe and a missing bra.  Two players from each team race to dig up one bag and then fight to bring it back to their mat - first to get three points win fire.  It was a brutal challenge but in the end the Heroes grab the victory and head back to camp with flint.

At camps the alliances are starting and groups are starting to whisper.

Immunity challenge - six tribe members race to make a boat, then paddle out to get a torch, paddle back, solve a puzzle, then use the planks to build a ladder and climb to the top.  The first tribe to the top, wins.  The Heroes have a clear head start buidling their boat and getting their torch but are stumped by the puzzle and the Villians pull ahead and easily win.

Discussion around who should be voted out start and there are talks of Sugar, Tom, Stephanie, or Cirie leaving but in the end it was Sugar who was voted out.  Good bye Sugar we will miss you!

Marji’s picks - Reward - Villians, Immunity - Heroes, Voted Out - Courtney

Mike’s picks - Reward - Villiams, Immunity - Villiams, Voted Out - Rupert

Great to have you guys back again this season. It looks like we are off to a great season! I hope Russel will be gone soon! Don’t know if I can put up with him for a whole nother season! Also, what is up with Tyson? I loved his coment about Colby loosing his manhood to coach and then five minutes later he is prancing around in what looked like a pair of his wifes panties. I hope he is gone soon as well!

Wow, JohnZ, I couldn’t disagree more. Rooting for Russell to win this one too. I love Tyson. One of the most savagely funny people ever to grace the show. The guy is a pro cyclist, he can get away with wearing an outfit like that.

M&M, I want some credit for inventing the Jerri/Coach nickname “J-Roach” if it takes off. As much as I like keeping attractive women on the show (no, not Sandra) I’m pretty happy that Sugartits went home last night. “Tears in [her] eyes, I guess.”

Glad I stayed up for another great live show.

Hi guys! As always, love the podcast. I was wondering if you could find something out … I was assuming that none of the pre-Russell survivors saw any of his season, but it seemed like they knew him already — so, did they see him in action, or not? I wish that had been clear.

Coach is as delusional as ever. I still LOVE Boston Rob. Russell seemed a little pathetic with his first-day beach alliance scramble, but since they didn’t vote him off I guess it didn’t hurt him too much.

I love how Rob was able to start a fire with no flint, even though his tribemate was disparaging his efforts. Meanwhile, Rupert was wasting the magnesium on the other side of the island, with no flames in sight …

According to Wikipedia, it was filmed it August 9th - September 16th, so they definitely wouldn’t have seen him on TV at all. I think this interview with Sugar might clear some things up.

Sugar said certain people (like Parvati) got more insider information on Russell. I also think Russell’s cover was blown when Jeff called him out in the beginning for being one of the most notorious Survivor villians.

Anyways, awesome first episode! GO BOSTON ROB!!!
