07.12.13 Survivor China - And Then There Were Four
We are getting to the end of the 40 days and emotions are running high so what does Mark B. do - stir things up. For reward, the challenge was to use a Chines crossbow to throw arrows at a board with blocks containing each of the remaining survivor’s names. The person whose name was hit most wins. What is the stir up? You have to give your arrows to another player anonymously. Courtney gets the most arrows to throw - is this because she is liked the most or the worst shot? Denise gets the most hits and wins reward. She earns a trip to the Great Wall of China and an overnight stay - she chooses Courtney and Todd to go with her leaving a very angry PG and a disappointed Amanda.
Courtney and Amanda bond while the other three are feasting and scheming.
The immunity challenge is a mix of some of the previous challenges. From death stars to eating small bird parts - it was a close challenge but Amanda wins! There is talk at camp of who to go but in the end it is Peih Gee. She fought a tough battle but just couldn’t break the alliance.

I think it is Amanda all the way.
And I’m OK with that.
If it’s not her, then I hope it’s Denise. Girlfriend needs a million dollar makeover!
Anyway… I predict that it will come down to Todd & Amanda & Courtney. They will vote off Denise at next tribal council.
Maybe there will be 3 tribal councils because there is a tie vote? Is that possible? Because there has to be 7 on the jury, right?
Anyway… at final tribal council, Courtney will get zero votes. Or maybe one from Frosti in hopes that he could get into her pants…
Then Amanda will get more votes. It will be just like the Romber tribal council on All-Stars… Amanda will get the votes because everyone will be too pissed off at Todd to vote for him.
And what is up with the car challenge?!?
None this year???

Ummm, no…
No car challenge since GMC is no longer a sponser to the show. It’s Sprint now.
Anyways, I was really pulling for my girl PG at the end, the rest excluding Amanda are too boring and predictable for my taste. And while I do think Todd has played a more aggressive/strategic game, I like Amanda much more, so I hope she takes this.
And Denise and Courtney aren’t even worth mentioning for the simple fact that they havent done anything noteworthy and simply lucked up. They are so blah!
Hope PG wins the money, proably will be James though.
I think it will be Amanda. She is very much like Amber. She has not angered anyone, laying low, making the right alliances, and she is a babe as well. The ex-Miss Montana will represent. I think Todd and ourtney may get one vote.. I see it like this:

Uh, i think i might know what you guys are talking about with a reward that was swimming with jellyfish. I’m pretty sure it was Palau with Ulong some how winning a reward and Bobby Jon was shown swimming with the jellyfish. This reward happened early in the season not towards the end of the season.
Oh yeah, Go Todd!
He will probably win b/c I think the jury, if he makes it to the finals, will respect his gameplay more than be angry. Even if he’s up against Amanda, it doesn’t matter. It will turn out to be the opposite of Rob and Amber. He might be my favorite player. He played the game the way it should be played which is not honestly.
I think he is the closest type of player survivor has had to Richard Hatch in 15 seasons. Rob C and Fairplay were close but they didn’t win. If Todd wins, i believe he will be right below Hatch as the greatest winner. Hatch will always be #1 becasue he created the way the game has been played since season 1 with alliances and other things. Hatch and Todd are both arrogant, cocky, clever, confident and always playing the game. You can never be comfortable. That’s how you play the game of Survivor. Both of them have been the top and most recognizable player for their season.
What do you guys think? Are todd and hatch similar or am i just crazy b/c todd’s been awesome this season?

I must confess that I seem to have a growing soft spot for Courtney. I could not stand her earlier in the game; she was annoying, stupid, physically weak and looked like skelletor. I wonder if it is all in the editing (and if that is the case and I am not on crack maybe they are building her up for victory), because lately I have found funny and a little bit endearing. She has done very well for someone who brings very little to the table.

Michael, if Courtney is not the PRIME EXAMPLE of your most hated type of person “the princess who feels entitled” then I don’t know who is. Her eye-rolling and primping about (on her barely skeletal frame) is nauseating to watch.
I would be happy with Amanda, Todd or Denise at this point. Although Todd is getting a bit arragont at times. But they all have played well. ESPECIALLY Amanda (although she should have gotten rid of Todd when she had the chance…)

If I remember right, Denise took Amanda aside and told her she had brought some nuts back for her. The camera then showed Todd and Courtney sitting together.
They didn’t show her giving over the treat but I thought it was just between the two and not overheard by PG.

I know I put my picks but after thinking it over, I’m pretty sure I know what’s gonna happen. It is just my specualtion and it makes the most sense but it all depends on immunity and if there is a final 3.
Final 4 immunity - Todd wins
Final 4 tribal council - todd gets denise and courtney to vote out amanda. they’ve been doing whatever he says the whole time so why would they do different. Also, they might beleive they would have a better shot of winning against him in final 3. No one except todd would maybe beat amanda.
Final 3 - Todd, courtney and denise. Todd would win without a doubt. There would be no way in hell denise or courntey would win. The jury would have to be pretty fumed to give either one of them the million dollars over todd. The jury would have to realize that he outwitted, outlasted and outplayed them.
*The smartest decision would be to get amanda out as soon as possible if she doesn’t win final immunity. I think Todd is too smart to not think of this if Amanda isn’t immune. I don’t think their alliance is that tight especially since it is final four and he would backstab her in a second to get to the finals.*

Before listening to the podcast I’ll throw my predictions into the ring:
Todd wins.
I agree with Steve in that Todd has played the best strategy game - he’s a student of the game. And the editing from the first episode also suggests it. Amanda might have been “nice” but I don’t know if the jury will reward nice over gameplay. Alot will depend on the final speeches and answers to the questions perhaps? And I’ll bet Peih Gee will have some things to say to the others when she gets to the loser camp (maybe she thought Amanda was on her side but then she figured out at the vote that Amanda was lying???).

Kid Survivor: Jonathan and a new gang of kids get stuck on a Gilligan’s Island type survival isle, and wacky hijinks ensue when they run across headhunters, WW2 japanese soldiers, and the occasional mad scientist.
Challenges: teams must build coconut cars, try to repair radios (which deliver the daily competitions), put on a bad broadway play (you go Jared!!), and must create a working robot.
Prizes: gold coconuts, of course!!!

I think Amanda and I predict a New Survivor All Stars with Todd and James back in the game again. No PG she was a whiney woman since DAY one. She was only spared because of the other schemes going on. Please a woman of Chinese decent in CHINA and she acts like a prissy angry person.Good riddeness. Yes they will reward the sweet girl, Amanda took time to meet these jury members, it will count believe you me. Courney gets one sympathy vote from Frosti who wants in her pants.

If Amanda is around for the final vote, I don’t see how Todd could beat her with this jury. She has played better ALL AROUND.

Todd and Amanda have both played a smart game. Todd has been cast as the manipulator, but Amanda has shown that she is smart as a fox too. It will be fun to see these two battle it out.
It will be interesting to see the final challenge. If it is a ballance/endurance challenge Courtney has it in the bag…. if any strength is involved she is in trouble, but will still be brought along to the final.
Poor miss-understood skelletor….
The most interesting part will be how Jeff gets from China to the U.S. Will he take a boat, fly on a communist fighters jet, swim, or simply teleport.
All in all it is going to be a good night… we are snowed in in Otttawa, with pizza, wine, and 3 hours of fun!

I’m picking Amanda. Unless Todd backstabs her at the round of 3 or the round of 2, I don’t know how she loses in front of the jury. She’s been playing just as hard as Todd, but less overtly, and that seems to influence juries.
But about the little missus breakin’ up the Carrino household (about 40:00 in the episode) — I’ll just say there’s no way I’m giving that lesbian kiss to CBS for free. Michael, you and I can certainly market that better (meaning, for more dinero — MUCH more) than Mark Burnett could. He doesn’t get as much profit out of gay relationships as he possibly could … 8^)
